YG Entertainment will activley hold concerts of its artsits in China. At an agreement-signing ceremony of YG, Tencent, and Weying held on May 31 at 11am at Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel, an official from China’s No.1 on-line and off-line mobile ticketing company Weying said, “We’ll hold a concert of iKON, EPIK HIGH, and LEE HI in the second half of this year in China. Then, all the YG artists will hold concert in China”.
YG Entertainment’s CEO YANG MIN SUK also confidently said, “We’ll introduce YG music to China through Tencent’s QQ Music and Tencent Video and hold concerts in the country in cooperation with Weying. In doing so, big data held by the two companies will give us a good opportunity to understand and more closely communicate with Chinese music fans”. Via : YG-Life
A big surprise present has arrived after a six-month break. iKON released their new single “WYD” on May 30 asking their fans “Whatcha doin?”. # Busy shooting a show with PSY
“WYD” is a song for iKON fans who have been sending unwavering support even during their hiatus. Because these days iKON members are not in Korea but in China most of the time, it is a special present for the fans.
According to iKON’s label YG Entertainment, iKON is currently shooting an audition show titled “The Remix” in China with PSY. This is why iKON can’t promote their new song in Korea. iKON fans have to stay content with only listening to the song for the moment.
# On a tour in China
On top of shooting “The Remix”, iKON is also on a tour in China. Earlier on, iKON held 14 concerts in five cities in Japan, drawing 150,000 people. Afterwards, they held concerts in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and now its China’s turn.
iKON held concerts in Chengdu on May 14 and in Nanjing on May 21, and the response from the audience was phenomenal. iKON members roamed the stage singing their hit songs and even got dressed up as women. They will continue on with their tour and hold concerts in Shenzhen on June 3 and in Shanghai on June 11.
# Working on their new album to give more presents to their fans
iKON is not currently doing any promotions for “#WYD”, but they will release a new album soon. BOBBY’s solo single will be released too. Specific dates have not been decided yet, but iKON will definitely be making a comeback in June.
